ARCH 402 ARCH DESIGN VI

SPRING 2019

4TH YEAR

Project Brief

During this semester the students are asked to integrate many aspects of related fields of academic learning acquired through their architectural education. This studio aims to bring into focus the role of these disciplines toward achieving a well-considered building that demonstrates the impact of building systems their and environmental considerations in the design process.

They are progressively addressing the issues of building codes, structure, mechanical and electrical systems, construction alternatives, life-cycle costs, sustainable strategies and their relative impact on your design solution. As it is in any significant work of architecture, the emphasis is be placed in the creativity of the process of integrating all building systems and environmental concerns in the design. In addition, being mindful of our understanding of the impact of buildings in our environment. When completed, the buildings will need to demonstrate the highest quality of design well as satisfying the rating requirements of ‘Gold’ or ‘Platinum” set by the US Green Building Council.
